EXTREMEETHICS is ethics with no excuses.  We believe that to start anywhere but at the top begs sub-standard results.  Our departure point is truth, an absolute. Extreme? To be sure.

EXTREMEETHICS provides information on ethics in all its applications free for the asking–no strings attached.  Extreme? To be doubly sure.  We’re promoting ethics across-the-board, trying to further the cause of truth in this world.  No easy task.  After all, who will admit to being unethical (especially those who need it most…)?

Fred Fox is formally educated in the liberal arts, geological sciences and engineering..  During research for his MBA thesis (1970) on professionalism, he developed a consuming interest in ethics which led to a comprehensive study of philosophy and ethics in the writings of relevant philosophers from Aristotle to McIntyre, Durant and Scruton. Fred has written two books and authored articles on ethics in engineering, business, politics, law, education and the environment in addition to professional papers in technical fields.  The environment is a particular area of expertise.

Fred has distilled the subject matter of ethics to its essence—truth.  Definitions of ethics are many, varied and often obscure but from the beginning, no matter which culture you choose, what is ethical has always meant that which is right, good and true.  While right and good may be open to interpretation, truth is not. This linchpin of ethics is absolute.  If something isn’t true, it is false and, needless to say, unethical.  The ethical person is nothing if not truthful and trustworthy; both words share their etymology—both imply consistency with fact, reliability and fidelity.

Mankind requires knowledge, and knowledge requires truth.  Truth.  No shortcuts.

While it’s true that nobody’s perfect, EXTREMEETHICS takes direct aim at perfection in spite of its ultimate impossibility.  This brings morality into the picture. We understand morality as honesty–ethics applied to humanity.

EXTREMEETHICS is committed to truth and honesty.  Founded on the premise that if it isn’t true, it can be neither factual nor ethical, this website provides useful information about ethics to anyone who asks.  Free. Our methods go a long way toward taking the guesswork out of ethical questions. They are direct, practical and accessible, and enable any intelligent person to make solid and correct ethical decisions without getting lost in arcane philosophical musings. We hold firmly that this end justifies our means.  Of course, the ultimate test of any method is: does it work? The answer is an unequivocal yes.

Truth is definitive and absolute, and absolute is extreme. Plus, we give away a lot.  Now that’s extreme.

We also welcome suggestions for links that will enable us to reach other concerned organizations and individuals like you. While altruism plays the major role in our efforts, we are open to opportunities to provide more focused individual- or small-group services for special needs. Our services are inexpensive and provided in strictest confidence.
