ETHICS ISSUES: THE CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER OF PC

PC and the PROBLEM of RACISM

...please

Think about it…

It’s not just terrorism that threatens our society.

Political Correctness  used to be merely an annoyance to those of us comfortable with the truth; we assumed that honesty would eventually win out over the obvious maneuverings typical of PC.  Well, it’s turned out to not be the case.  The ‘right’ to not be offended (the truth might be ‘hurtful’…) is the trump card of those who cannot convince others that theirs is the only way.  PC, reaching new levels of absurdity, has become the new norm.  Those Progressives so fond of it have taken it upon themselves to label individuals choosing to not follow their party line as…RACIST.

Charles Krauthammer: “(Progressives are) entering a new phase of ideological agitation—no longer trying to win the debate but stopping debate altogether, banishing from public discourse

ETHICS, LAW, and THE RULES of LAWYERS

ETHICAL ISSUES:  THE LAW

The rule of law is the most significant issue facing our civilization, an insidious deterioration of the principles on which the republic is built.”  So said Robert Bartley in The Wall Street Journal of September 19, 2000.  He was right then, and he’s right now.

In the eight centuries since the Magna Carta, we have increasingly taken the rule of law for granted, not to mention bending, folding, spindling and otherwise mutilating it along the way.  Our law has been molded by hundreds of years of subjective experience, shaping our behavior to the point where its beginnings are lost in clouds of uncertainty.  Further, this vast accumulation of experience encourages us to selectively pick only those pieces that seem to justify our need at any given moment.  This is fodder for lawyers, whose job it is to sort through the plethora of records and determine a course of action for any given situation.  Somebody has to do it.

THE ETHICS OF ISLAM

IS ISLAM ETHICAL?

Ethics being founded in truth, Islam is demonstrably unethical on its face. The Qur’an and its supporting documents deny the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus 9781627874267of Nazareth, claiming that He died a natural death at a much later date. Additionally, Islam denies the Christian Trinity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. In doing so, Islam denies the very foundations of Christianity, effectively nullifying it as a religion. It does this on the basis of convenient alterations to the Christian Bible made hundreds of years after the fact (early Seventh Century), claiming theirs to be the ‘genuine’ bible.

Regardless of one’s views concerning religions and their validity, the life and death of Jesus of Nazareth are historical fact, and may not be changed or dismissed as irrelevant. The denial of history is not only inexcusable, IT IS UNETHICAL. A few examples: According to Islam, Allah/God would

THE LIBERAL WAY

BEWARE the LOW ROAD

The later 20th Century witnessed a lessening of vitality in the public sector.  The promise of scientific progress was weakened with the realization that science might go too far (as witnessed by the atrocities of both World Wars—ethnic cleansing and thermonuclear power).  An increase in leisure activities cut into interpersonal relations.  Television and the computer led to a more depersonalized mode of interaction—the public consuming media (and therefore subject to being manipulated by it) rather than paying attention to politics and interfacing with other people—and politics became more of a ‘spectator sport’ than a personal involvement.  In effect, democracy was colonized by mass media and the liberal elite.  The group, not the individual, became paramount.

Liberalism has come to control mass media (newspapers, television, even Hollywood) and dominate the

BEWARE the LOW ROAD

Modern conservatism favors financial responsibility, individual freedom, limited government and a strong national defense. Its tradition, by definition, dates back at least to Plato.  As such, it has a spiritual dimension that affects its morality, and cannot be considered secular in any absolute sense.  But conservatism is regarded “behind the times” in liberal quarters.

The proliferation of newspapers, literary journals and salons occurring in the 18th Century resulted in an explosion in mass communication and exchange of information.  This, and the growth of public venues where ideas could be shared, developed and spread, resulted in the shaping of public opinion and enabled challenging the status quo to an unprecedented degree. Government control of the electorate initially was made more difficult by the growth of public venues where ideas critical of the

ETHICS and the PRESIDENCY

SETTING AN EXAMPLE:

OUR UNETHICAL PRESIDENT

President Obama said he’d fundamentally transform America, and he’s delivered on that promise.  What follows is all a matter of record.  (And we were warned…by Himself.)

In 2008, Senator Obama was asked about his position on our flag.  His answer:  “…I don’t want to be perceived as taking sides.”  (This from a federal officer pledged to support ‘our side.’)  “There are…people…to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression…The anthem itself conveys a warlike message…the bombs bursting in air and…that sort of thing.”   Obama continued: “The National Anthem should be swapped for something …less bellicose…like the song ‘I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing’. If that were our anthem, then I might salute it. In my opinion, we should consider reinventing our National Anthem as well as ‘redesign’ our Flag to better offer
