TRUTH – an ETHICAL ISSUE

Living with the truth is, in fact, what EXTREME ETHICS is all about.

John Ransom in a recent column: “Today all you have to do is repeat a thing often enough and it becomes truth. …(P)eople can no longer recognize even their own lies. They can’t distinguish between what is true and the fantasy that exists only in their imagination.  And…there’s only one word you can use to describe it: psychosis.”  Strong words, remarkably well-put and worthy of our attention.  But wait…  Is it the TRUTH?

truth

…What it’s all about

Well, before we can deal with that question it’s necessary to come to terms with truth.

Truth is, simply, what is, tangible and verified or verifiable, real and actual, that exists.  It is a noun and only a noun, one and the same as reality and fact; it

PC and the PROBLEM of RACISM

...please

Think about it…

It’s not just terrorism that threatens our society.

Political Correctness  used to be merely an annoyance to those of us comfortable with the truth; we assumed that honesty would eventually win out over the obvious maneuverings typical of PC.  Well, it’s turned out to not be the case.  The ‘right’ to not be offended (the truth might be ‘hurtful’…) is the trump card of those who cannot convince others that theirs is the only way.  PC, reaching new levels of absurdity, has become the new norm.  Those Progressives so fond of it have taken it upon themselves to label individuals choosing to not follow their party line as…RACIST.

Charles Krauthammer: “(Progressives are) entering a new phase of ideological agitation—no longer trying to win the debate but stopping debate altogether, banishing from public discourse

THE ETHICS OF ISLAM

IS ISLAM ETHICAL?

Ethics being founded in truth, Islam is demonstrably unethical on its face. The Qur’an and its supporting documents deny the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus 9781627874267of Nazareth, claiming that He died a natural death at a much later date. Additionally, Islam denies the Christian Trinity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. In doing so, Islam denies the very foundations of Christianity, effectively nullifying it as a religion. It does this on the basis of convenient alterations to the Christian Bible made hundreds of years after the fact (early Seventh Century), claiming theirs to be the ‘genuine’ bible.

Regardless of one’s views concerning religions and their validity, the life and death of Jesus of Nazareth are historical fact, and may not be changed or dismissed as irrelevant. The denial of history is not only inexcusable, IT IS UNETHICAL. A few examples: According to Islam, Allah/God would

THE LIBERAL WAY

BEWARE the LOW ROAD

The later 20th Century witnessed a lessening of vitality in the public sector.  The promise of scientific progress was weakened with the realization that science might go too far (as witnessed by the atrocities of both World Wars—ethnic cleansing and thermonuclear power).  An increase in leisure activities cut into interpersonal relations.  Television and the computer led to a more depersonalized mode of interaction—the public consuming media (and therefore subject to being manipulated by it) rather than paying attention to politics and interfacing with other people—and politics became more of a ‘spectator sport’ than a personal involvement.  In effect, democracy was colonized by mass media and the liberal elite.  The group, not the individual, became paramount.

Liberalism has come to control mass media (newspapers, television, even Hollywood) and dominate the

Modern conservatism favors financial responsibility, individual freedom, limited government and a strong national defense. Its tradition, by definition, dates back at least to Plato.  As such, it has a spiritual dimension that affects its morality, and cannot be considered secular in any absolute sense.  But conservatism is regarded “behind the times” in liberal quarters.

The proliferation of newspapers, literary journals and salons occurring in the 18th Century resulted in an explosion in mass communication and exchange of information.  This, and the growth of public venues where ideas could be shared, developed and spread, resulted in the shaping of public opinion and enabled challenging the status quo to an unprecedented degree. Government control of the electorate initially was made more difficult by the growth of public venues where ideas critical of the

ETHICS, TRUTH, and GLOBAL WARMING

GLOBAL WARMING?  YES!    The FACTS…

It’s been said that the Earth is round so that man can see only as far as he can handle at any one time (that’s about 13 miles, depending on how tall you are).  That doesn’t amount to much when you think about how far far can be; that can be hard to handle.

Let’s begin by defining nature. That’s the Universe, which includes our planet.  On it, traveling in a straight line, you’d cover about 25,000 miles before returning to where you started (that’s the circumference of our planet).  Quite a trip, but not nearly as far as far goes…

How about 276,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (276Septillion, or 276 thousand multiplied by itself seven times) miles?  That’s FAR.  And getting farther… The Universe is expanding, and it’s already…

BIG – the Universe (nature) is 46 BILLION light years
