ETHICS ISSUES: THE THREAT OF ISLAM

ISLAM: AN IMMEDIATE THREAT

Islam: Politically Incorrct

..YOU’D BETTER WATCH OUT…

You must realize that our American Way of life is under a siege protected by political correctness.  Terrorists have been attacking us on our soil for years.  September 11, 2001 may have been the worst assault, but aggression began years before.  The attacks at the Boston Marathon and the San Jose (CA) power station on April 16, 2013 are more recent examples.  Our embassy in Benghazi was attacked by terrorists, killing four Americans including our Ambassador.  This is, by any name, warfare.  Our nation is at war, however politically-incorrect it is to admit.

Most of these attacks have been made by Islamists—Muslims by another name—and it is likely that all were in fact the work of Islamic terrorists.  Why?  Because in spite of how politically incorrect it is to say, it is the

OUR FOUNDERING NATION—WHAT HAPPENED?:  A BRIEF HISTORY of POLITICAL ETHICS (OR NOT…)

Truth has no agenda

…something to remember…

Our political system traditionally has included two parties: Democrat and Republican.  The Republican Party (born with Abraham Lincoln) came to represent business and corporations, while the Democrat Party represented the working man.  As technology and industrialization progressed the Democrats, fearing uncontrolled growth and the possibility of its taking over government, became more socially liberal and unionistic.  This ‘new left’ (which is no longer new, having begun in the Roosevelt administrations along with growth of the Frankfurt School) attracted humanistic intellectuals who tended to command power by virtue of their advanced education and higher recompense—a technical and cultural elite of professionals and highly-paid bureaucrats—a far cry from the blue-collar workers of yore.  And academe has become almost exclusively liberal, becoming more so as one ascends the scholastic ladder.

OUR NATION IS FOUNDERING–HOW DID WE GET HERE?:  A BRIEF HISTORY of POLITICAL ETHICS (OR NOT…)

Truth has no agenda

Truth has no agenda

The high principles upon which our nation was founded reached a peak during the years during and immediately following World War II.  The war effort had united Americans in a common patriotism that was key to an Allied victory over the fascist and imperial powers threatening world peace in both Europe and the Far East.  A period of prosperity and progress followed as the military returned to contribute to the growing economy.  Life was good.  I know.  I was there.

The generation coming of age during the 1960s (many of them children of those who fought the war) benefited in a big way from that period of growth, to the point where they felt free to live the life they wished for themselves and

ETHICAL ISSUES:  THE LACK OF ETHICS IN GOVERNMENT

may09 021The EPA is by definition an administration, meaning that it is an agent of the Executive branch of government rather than the Administrative.  As such, it is wide open to politicians favoring activist groups for their votes.  It has, since its inception, served to stifle progress both scientific and infrastructural by onerous fees and seemingly unending delays for approval.  We have only semi-facetiously referred to it as Economic Prevention Activists.

In fact, federal power has increased to the point of impeding the moving forward of civilization.  Strong words but true.

EPA is only one of many federal agencies that dictate policy under the protection of the Executive Branch, safely protected from lawmaking government (Congress) in the name of themselves.  Many of these wave the banner of political correctness, usually incorrect in itself.  Many of

ETHICS ISSUES: POLITICS and ENVIRONMENTAL ETHICS

POLITICS, GOVERNMENT and ENVIRONMENTAL ETHICS

Simple solutions to the bogging-down of new construction in the U.S. by environmental regulation and a concomitant endless review process start with consideration of the entire environment.  Birds, bunnies, bushes and bubbling brooks constitute only the fuzzy part that activists employ to elicit support for their varied and conflicting agendas  (an example: protecting birds while at the same time killing them with wind farms).  Environmental ethics issues include the existing infrastructure and mankind as well.  Until this reality is brought into focus there will continue to be a shotgun approach to environmental review and regulation by the EPA and a myriad of disparate special interests as well.  A return to reason is needed.    The first step in solving a problem is identification.

The call for one independent agency is redundant–it already exists.  That’s

ETHICS ISSUES: ISLAM and POLITICAL CORRECTNESS

THE ETHICS OF ISLAM

It is politically correct to believe that the reason that most Muslims fail to speak out against radical Islam is that they are afraid of repercussions that will affect them adversely.  Apparently this is not the case.  The following was reported by Sam Harris:

From the Chairman of Islam Net, Fahad Ullah Qureshi:  “When Muslim organizations invite Shaykhs who speak openly about the values of Islam, the Islamophobic western media starts (sic) murdering the character of that organization…. …  (A)re these so called ‘radical’ views…endorsed only by these few individuals being invited around the globe, or does the common Muslims (sic) believe in them?”

Islam Net, an organization in Norway, invited 9 speakers (who we might label ‘extremist’) to Peace Conference Scandinavia 2013, the largest International Scandinavian Islamic event that has taken place—about 4000 people attended.

The audience, common Sunni Muslims who
